The Yakovlev Yak-9 was a single-engine fighter aircraft used by the Soviet Union in World War II and after. Fundamentally a lighter development of the Yak-7 with the same armament, it arrived at the front at the end of 1942. The Yak-9 had a lowered rear fuselage decking and all-around vision canopy. Its lighter airframe gave the new fighter a flexibility that previous model had lacked. The pilots that flew it, regarded its performances at the same level of those of the Messerschmitt Bf 109G and Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-3/A-4. The Yak-9 was the most mass-produced Soviet fighter of all time. It remained in production from 1942 to 1948, with 16,769 built (14,579 during the war). It was the first Soviet aircraft to shoot down a Messerschmitt Me 262 jet. [2] It was used by North Korea in the Korean War.
Кувалда Кондрашов : Achtung Achtung Am Himmel Pokryshkin! Ist gut Pokryshkin ist gut!
Jerry Jones : Beautiful plane, well flown aerial demonstration! Anyone know the name of the musical score at the beginning of the video?
Rico : all Yakovlev wwii prop fighters are fitted with Allison or Merlin engines now, but there's a video about a Yak 1 Klimov m105 engine start. The idle sounds really menacing, I wonder how would the late 1750hp engines sounded like
Владимир Нестеренко : Як чудове летае , а за штурвалом Hans Ehen Fogel ???)))
shumatych : Читаю сейчас книгу А.В.Ворожейкина «Солдаты неба», на Яках летал

Ефим Василевский : Пилоту. Молодец!!!
Anatoli Hoffmann : Советский красавец!
Александр Кулагин : Седьмая симфония на фоне киля со свастикой-супер!
Андрей Кононенко : Yak-9. Як-9 лудший истребитель 2 мировой войны.
